Explore whatʼs new in PC-DMIS 2025.2
“Weʼre excited to showcase the innovations in PC-DMIS 2025.2 and demonstrate how the Inspect Automate module can transform inspection workflows,ˮ says Ken Woodbine, senior portfolio manager at Hexagon’s Stationary Metrology Division. Woodbine also took some time to answer a few questions from Quality Digest.
Quality Digest: How does the Inspect Automate module differ from similar products?
Ken Woodbine: It offers our CMM users who are focused on executing complex programs an easy and elegant way to do so.
QD: Do you have some specific metrics and statistics on how this affects or improves productivity, how or by what percentage it reduces error rates, and therefore contributes to a more efficient workflow?
Woodbine: The production environment, including metrology functions, are persona based. Many hundreds of our customers value this interface as it simplifies their workflow immensely.
QD: With what technologies does this work well in tandem?
Woodbine: This works will for the Operator persona, which might be someone who doesn’t have time or the relevant training but still needs to execute measurement routines for their CMM.
QD: How are data shared among the inspection teams?
Woodbine: The results are the same that are generated by standard PC-DMIS, and therefore these can be shared in the “standard” ways available. These include creating PDF report files as well as custom reports that may have been created. It also allows for the upload of results data to our dedicated reporting products like QDAS or Metrology Reporting.
QD: Is it compatible with most CMMs and platforms?
Woodbine: It is compatible with any device that uses the very popular PC-DMIS programs.
