What’s new in Geomagic Design X 2025.1

LiveTransfer technology

Enables manufacturers to move complete parametric models directly into leading CAD platforms, including SOLIDWORKS, Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor, and PTC Creo.

This streamlined workflow reduces complexity, accelerates design cycles, and makes up-to-date models available for downstream use in assemblies, drawings, simulation, and manufacturing.

Advanced scan data processing

Shrink Wrap Tool: Create a single watertight mesh from multiple meshes by capturing only external surfaces while repairing mesh topology issues.

Decimate Mesh: Retain design intent and achieve robust and adaptive results with 2x or 4x faster performance for cleaner, optimized data.

Performance improvements for selected scan data processing functions.

Feature modeling enhancements

Pattern faces in linear, circular, curve, and mirror configurations.

Improved Boolean operations with options to retain tools and target bodies.

Select target bodies for Merge and Cut result operator when creating features.

Easier creation and editing of 3D Polyline from the canvas, along with exporting its geometry, point, and radius data.

Modeling wizards

Pipe Wizard: Robust and more accurate pipe modeling from noisy scan data.

Sweep Wizard: Enhanced path output as 3D polylines for greater design flexibility.

Surfacing

More accurate surface fitting with improved performance for complex patch networks.

Integration with Hexagon handheld scanners

Plug-in for Hexagon handheld scanner devices enables users to leverage scanning properties from Hexagon’s ATLASCAN, MARVELSCAN, and HYPERSCAN handheld scanners directly within the Design X environment.

This marks a major step forward in software scanning for these devices, reducing workflow complexity and ensuring seamless data acquisition for reverse engineering projects.

Robust and reliable experience with 3D Mouse

Today’s products have complex shapes that are hard to re-create, but Geomagic Design X enables users to quickly process free-form shapes and surfaces to create usable NURBS and parametric CAD.
