Passing of Tom Taormina
I was so sorry to hear of Tom's passing, and I pray for his wife and surviving family. Tom was a consultant for a number of companies for which I performed ISO 9000 audits for ABSQE during the late 1990's. I was always amazed at his stamina and attention to detail. He would drive 500 miles from West Texas in time to attend his client's ISO audit in the Houston area by 9:00 a.m. Not only did he appear rested, but had fascinating reports of his mobile Ham radio discussions during his drive to the audit. His later books on Internal Auditing, and ISO applications were educational, informative and inspiring. Tom left an exceptional legacy to the operations management organizations. His professional example will provide valuable guidance to the Quality Assurance professions for years to come.
Hugh Gillogly, former ASQC, and IRCA lead auditor.
