(API Metrology: Rockville, MD) -- API announced the launch of its latest Radian line of laser trackers. The updated series of Radian trackers offer the lightest, most compact, and highest accuracy trackers in the industry. The line includes three models: Radian Core, Radian Plus, and Radian Pro.

The Radian Core is a spherically mounted retroreflector (SMR) tracker only, with a measuring range of 50 and 80 meters. Radian Plus is supplied standard with the API vProbe, a handheld, light-weight, tactile probe that extends the laser tracker coordinate measuring capabilities by permitting intricate features and part characteristics outside the line-of-site tracker setup. The vProbe has more versatility than a portable arm coordinate measuring machine (CMM), and is inherently suitable for large parts and styli lengths up to 500 mm. The Radian Pro offers both absolute distance measurement (ADM) and inferometer (IFM) capability. It is available with 20-, 50-, and 80-meter range options and features six-degrees of freedom (6DoF).
