(3D Engineering Solutions: Cincinnati) -- 3D Engineering Solutions has partnered with Nikon Metrology to create a first in North America—the first combination of advanced metrology-grade industrial CT scanning capabilities, joined with all the engineering services needed to maximize those capabilities for clients anywhere in the world, according to James T. Irwin, president of 3D.

Industrial CT scanners are 3D X-ray machines that provide extremely precise quality measurement functions needed by manufacturers of all product types. The new scanners at 3D Engineering Services perform microanalytic inspections of sophisticated parts, such as cast items with intricate internal passages. Before the advent of industrial CT scanning, such part inspections were destructive, cutting into the part to view internal quality that could not be seen or accurately determined in any other way.
