What is Quality Management Software?

Quality management software is software that allows product managers, creators, and engineers to plan, control, assure, and further the quality of a product. In layman’s terms, quality management software is how companies track and control the qualities of their products, from kid toys to jet engines. Quality management software can monitor everything from employee training, manufacturing system production, regulation compliance, and much more.

Standardization

In the modern world, ever since manufacturing became all about standardization and division of labor (allotting different resources to make individual parts of a product, rather than one person or team creating an entire single product) quality management systems have become very important. You can easily see why – if a single part of a product is being made badly or is likely to break, it can affect the whole project. This can be good and bad for a producer – if the part is not found it can cause the entire product to be faulty or malfunction. However, if a faulty part is found and the cause is rectified, all the other components of the product can still be saved to make a finished product that functions well. Standardization can be very efficient, but only when partnered with excellent quality control.
