(Creaform: Lévis, Québec, Canada) -- Creaform, a leader in portable 3-D optical measurement technologies and 3-D engineering services, and Faurecia Autositze GmbH are working together on a software solution for the measurements and positioning of dummies. In the future, this software solution should be used together with Creaform 3-D metrology systems in Faurecia factories in Germany, France, and other countries, but will also find application in other industries worldwide.

Creaform’s VXtrack dynamic tracking technology allows the creation of individual and customized solutions. The software for dummy positioning, which is currently developed with Faurecia Autositze, will allow simultaneous and real-time measurement of all 3-D measurement points necessary for aligning dummies before a crash test. This gives a user-friendly, flexible, and mobile solution that saves working time and increases the accuracy of the measurements.

Faurecia Autositze GmbH currently uses the HandyPROBE portable 3-D coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and a MetraSCAN 3-D optical CMM scanner to analyze vehicle parts on the crash track.
