(CMSC: Benbrook, TX) -- The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS), the eminent membership association for measurement professionals, is hosting its third large-scale, interactive measurement study, as well as two other events at the 28th annual Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC), July 16–20, 2012, at The Roosevelt New Orleans, a Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New Orleans.

The measurement study will focus on the importance of practical testing. Data collection activity is coordinated by the National Physical Laboratory, which is the national measurement institute for the United Kingdom, and sponsored by the Metrologic Group, a designer and manufacturer of dimensional control systems and 3-D inspection software headquartered in Meylan, France. Members of the CMS Certification Committee assist in the data collection. In the past two years, more than 300 conference attendees have also participated in the data collection activity.
