(LMI: Vancouver, Canada) -- LMI Technologies, a global leader in 3-D laser measurement and control sensor technology, has launched upgraded firmware for its line of Gocator 3-D smart sensors. Release 3.3 expands Gocator’s built-in tools with new support for advanced measurements, improved scripting, and enhanced programmable logic controller (PLC) interoperation.

The Gocator is a series of precalibrated, laser line profile sensors that are easy to use and integrate into industrial measurement and control applications. Built-in measurement tools and PLC control connectivity and reporting make Gocator an ideal solution for automated in-line quality control.

Features highlighting v. 3.3 of the Gocator firmware include:
• Certified Ethernet/IP for easier integration into PLC controlled systems
• Advanced gap, flush, and groove measurement tools for common inline inspection tasks
• Improved scripting that carries measurements from one frame to another
• Occlusion prevention using two sensors to deliver more of the scanned surface
