The ADCOLE Model 1000 surface finish gauge is an automatic camshaft and crankshaft surface roughness machine that lets an operator load a part, press one button, and have all surface roughness measurements done in one sequence. Providing highly repeatable results, it can measure roughness parameters such as Ra, Rp, Tp, and Rsk on main and rod journals and thrust faces.

Upgraded with GE Fanuc motion controls and Allen-Bradley components, the ADCOLE Model 1000 surface finish gauge utilizes three variable reluctance pickups, each having a five-micron diamond stylus, and they are capable of scanning 2,000 points per mm. Running on the familiar Windows platform, average cycle time is six minutes and various report outputs are offered.
