(Elysium Inc.: Southfield, MI) -- For the third year, two aerospace and defense organizations, The Boeing Co. and Northrop Grumman Corp., are co-sponsoring the Global Product Data Interoperability Summit (GPDIS), which is open to all industries. The summit will be held at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos in Chandler, Arizona, Nov. 7–10, 2011. Presenter abstracts related to improving the quality of product definition across the value stream are due by Aug. 31, 2011.

Data interoperability is integral to efficient and agile product life-cycle management systems. Managers and engineers are facing a fundamental shift in digital product data exchange requirements. The combination of unique authoring processes, proprietary tools, and immature standards all have an effect on how well the value stream interoperates.

To provide a forum to address these concerns, the GPDIS is emerging as the premier event for industry professionals seeking solutions for enabling consistent data interoperability across the value stream and throughout the life cycle.
