(DNV: Seattle) -- DNV announces that it has obtained accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for power quality testing on wind turbines. The DNV Seattle office, which obtained the accreditation, now provides power quality testing services to global customers along with accredited power performance, acoustic, and loads measurement services.

A2LA’s accreditation for power quality testing of wind turbines is in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 for power quality testing per the IEC 61400-21 power quality testing standard for wind turbines. Only a handful of organizations worldwide have achieved accreditation in this area; DNV is the only private company in the United States to have successfully completed this evaluation process.

This new accredited service supplements the accredited wind turbine power performance, acoustic noise, and mechanical loads testing already being conducted, and allows DNV to perform all of the testing required for type certification.
