(Spectronics Corp.:Westbury, New York) -- Inspection professionals now have a new method for fluorescent magnetic particle and penetrant testing, mining inspection, and many other applications—the Spectroline EK-3000 EagleEye UV-A/white-light LED inspection kit.

This kit features the palm-sized, cool-running EagleEye inspection lamp. It is engineered with two ultra-high intensity UV-A (365 nm) LEDs that are ideal for nondestructive testing (NDT) and mining inspection, plus a three-LED white-light assembly for general illumination. An adjustable strap allows the lamp to be worn on a hard hat or directly on the head for hands-free operation. A unique lamp mount/sprayer attachment permits lamp and spray can to be mounted together for convenient, single-handed fluorescent yoke inspection.

The EagleEye lamp produces a nominal steady-state UV-A intensity of 5,500 µW/cm² at 15 inches (38 cm). A built-in fan keeps the lamp cool to maintain optimum UV-A intensity during prolonged inspections. Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery (included), it provides up to 45 minutes of continuous inspection between charges.
