(Qualitest: Huntsville, AL) -- Qualitest, a provider of comprehensive solutions through material-testing instruments, systems, and accessories, has extended its range of products for measuring gas permeability rate. The new gas permeability tester VAC-V1 is ideally suited to measure the gas permeability rate, solubility coefficient, diffusion coefficient, and permeability coefficient at various temperatures for plastic, laminated, and breathable films, high-barrier material sheets, foils, and rubber, including tire seal performance.

The VAC-V1 is engineered with a patented data curve-fitting in permeation (DCFP) technique that provides accurate test results at any temperature. The permeability tester is fully automated and computer-controlled with a wide test range that could be extended by means of the software. The VAC-V1 operates not only with oxygen but also nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen. The device can even be extended to test for poisonous and explosive gases.
