(nuvoTrace: Las Vegas) -- With the Trace300 Benchtop Hydrogen/Refrigerant Leak Detector and Locator, nuvoTrace, a small business entity, offers a new industrial technology to change the way manufacturers check for leak tightness—and identify the locations of those leaks.

A new approach to leak testing

The new tester uses a safe, nontoxic tracer gas mix of 5-percent hydrogen with 95-percent nitrogen (or any gas mixture with hydrogen) to determine leak tightness all types of items. It may also be used with applications where 100-percent hydrogen is present, such as in the power industry. The Trace300 also detects refrigerants such as R22, R134a, and R410a. Other refrigerant detectors are under development.

Hand-sniffing for leaks utilizing hydrogen as a tracer gas is quickly becoming the standard for industries saddled with the high cost of helium testing. Multiple test stations require multiple testers, and costs can rise quickly. The Trace300 Benchtop Hydrogen/Refrigerant Leak Detector and Locator has been specifically designed to meet the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) industry’s rising need for advanced and less expensive leak testing.
