Body

(S. Himmelstein: Hoffman Estates, IL) -- New models 2206 and 2207 solid flanged reaction torquemeters from S. Himmelstein and Co. offer certified accuracy. Their high stiffness and ability to handle large extraneous loads (thrust and bending) minimizes cross-talk errors.

These stationary instruments accurately measure static and dynamic torque of rotating and nonrotating drivelines. The 2206–2207 units are expected to find wide use in industrial torque-measurement and -control applications for valve actuators, servo valves, hydraulic motors, and stepper motors.

Available torque ranges are from 300,000 to 750,000 lbf-in., with either ±2 mV/V or ±10 V output. All units are calibrated CW and CCW to rated load in S. Himmelstein’s NVLAP-accredited laboratory. An NVLAP-approved calibration certificate documents NIST traceability.

Reaction torquemeters are an economical solution where in-line measurements are required but where angular motion is restricted and cycle rates are low.
