Body

(Spectronics Corp.: Westbury, NY) -- The Spectroline FC-150 ultrahigh intensity UV inspection lamp has a built-in fan that reduces operating temperatures and prevents the lamp from becoming too hot to handle. This ensures greater comfort and safety for nondestructive testing (NDT) inspectors.

The FC-150 lamp delivers a nominal steady-state UV-A (365 nm) intensity of 4,500 µW/cm² at 15 inches (38 cm). It reveals even the smallest cracks and defects, assuring extremely accurate inspections. The FC-150 easily meets MIL and ASTM specifications for FPI and MPI.

The lamp has a lightweight head and a contoured pistol-grip handle that is located at the balance point of the lamp, so it can be held comfortably for long inspection periods. It comes with an 8-foot (2.5 m) power cord and UV-absorbing spectacles. The lamp is housed in a super-strong engineering polymer that is dent-proof and impact-resistant.

The lamp’s unique built-in-ballast bulb produces the power of a transformer-based lamp without a heavy external transformer. The 150-watt bulb has an average rated life of 5,000 hours.
