(ISO: Geneva) -- The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has just published two new brochures aimed at the continual process improvement employed by an organization and its partners to develop international standards that provide benefits for business, government, and society.

ISO standards, of which there are more than 18,500, are built on international consensus and input from the broadest possible range of stakeholders. The new brochures provide guidance for, respectively, the national standards bodies that provide delegations to participate in developing ISO standards, as well as more than 500 liaison organizations from the public and private sectors with a stake in one or more specific aspects of ISO’s work, such as standards for health, safety, or the environment.

The new brochures are:
• Guidance for national standards bodies—Engaging stakeholders and building consensus

• Guidance for ISO liaison organizations—Engaging stakeholders and building consensus
