It isn’t Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. I wish it were. It’s the committee draft (CD) of ISO 9001:2015, or model No. 5, if you prefer. No connection whatsoever to that lady-loved scent, Chanel No. 5, either. ISO lost out on that opportunity, too.

The ISO 9001:2015 CD costs 38 Swiss francs in PDF format, but that will shoot up to 118 Swiss francs or so, like ISO 9001:2008 did, once it achieves International Standard recognition.

So much for the economics.

I bought myself the PDF format of the CD, and as a matter of fact, it doesn’t take much longer to go through it than it does to listen to a music CD, which is what I expected.

Agree! Maybe it is time to provide something SMART

In more than 15 years providing Consulting Services, this has been the section of ISO 9001 that has encountered more resistance; Specialist always talk about the possibility of: 

  • Change the wording, 
  • making it 'exhaustive', Specific.
  • To make this Section SMART (as per definition of SMART Objectives: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic,Time-Bound)
