(Minitab: State College, PA) -- Minitab, a leading provider of software for quality improvement, is offering at no cost, an online preview training session on value-stream mapping, a technique used to analyze the flow of information and materials needed to bring products to customers.

The hour-long training session will be held on Tues., March 13, 2012, at 2 p.m. EDT. Register here.

Participants will learn how to create and format a value-stream map step by step with Quality Companion, a software package designed to manage improvement projects from start to finish. Session content is drawn from Minitab’s two-day Quality Companion Essentials course.

Quality Companion’s value-stream mapping tool makes it easy to track variables such as inventory, takt time and cycle time, among others. The tool can be used to help improve processes in services, manufacturing, the supply chain, health care, software development, and product development.
