(The Center for Industrial Effectiveness: Amherst, NY) -- As a certified lean professional and activity-based cost management expert with the University at Buffalo's Center for Industrial Effectiveness, Julie Stiles has helped companies in multiple industries to improve business performance and profitability for almost 20 years. Stiles' will be the instructor for a series of lean professional workshops beginning Jan. 31. Her experience and down-to-earth presentation style contribute to her skill at making concepts come alive, inspiring her clients to look at what they do with a fresh perspective that achieves results. • 39 hours of classroom instruction and project mentoring over 13 sessions
• Topics covered include: lean introduction; project foundation; kaizen simulation; change management and team building; 5S; value-stream mapping (VSM); standardized work, pull, setup reduction; problem solving; and kaizen planning
• Learn how to eliminate waste, improve on-time delivery, decrease cycle time, and improve product quality
• Certification through exam and completion of a lean project using VSM and tools
