(CSCMP: Lombard, IL) --The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) has released two new research books, one on supply chain costing and the other on supply chain management process standards.

The Handbook of Supply Chain Costing gives practitioners tools to expand cost visibility and more efficiently manage cost information. Expanded cost visibility and better information management are strategies that can deliver increased performance and decreased costs. The new research includes data and best-practice contributions from 20 leading consumer goods, food product, pharmaceutical, automotive, and aviation companies.

CSCMP’s popular benchmarking series, Supply Chain Management Process Standards, was updated to include 40 percent more benchmarking information. Expanded from six to 12 categories, this research is based on CSCMP’s 2004 best-selling series and has been a resource used by many member companies to identify potential process gaps, strengths, and weaknesses as a way to improve supply chain performance. The Standards are now using APQC’s open standard, Process Classification FrameworkSM, which enables companies to see their business processes from a cross-industry viewpoint.
