Dubai Quality Mark Introduced

Dubai Industrial City, a member of Tatweer, recently developed an integrated management system for all manufacturers operating within Dubai City.

Based on international quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) management standards and applicable manufacturing best practices, Dubai Quality Mark will specify the requirements for implementing the integrated management system framework.

“With most international standards, including ISO 9000 and ISO 14000, being purely voluntary, it was imperative for Dubai Industrial City to develop and enforce a framework to ensure that all operators within the city commit themselves to the highest level of industrial QHSE quality,” said Khalid Al Malik, senior vice president of Industry and Knowledge, Tatweer.

Dubai Industrial City has conducted intensive research to assess the level of various technical and nontechnical requirements governing industrial development within the United Arab Emirates.

“The model is very dynamic in nature and is tailored to address specific industrial hazards and their associated risks. For example, the DQM maturity rating set for the Food and Beverage sector is unique to it, and so is the rating for the transportation sector,” said Malik.
