Delcam, a supplier of machining software, recently acquired International Manufacturing Computer Services Inc., the developer of the PartMaker suite of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. The IMCS catalog includes PartMaker SwissCAM and PartMaker Turn-Mill for the programming of multi-axis lathes. This acquisition extends Delcam’s family of software, reinforcing its position in the U.S. market. Delcam reports that PartMaker and SwissCAM will remain independent product lines developed in the United States, but it will market the software throughout its network of more than 150 subsidiary and reseller offices in more than 60 countries. IMCS will change its name to PartMaker Inc.

“Multi-axis turning equipment is becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated, and so needs dedicated, specialist software,” says Hugh Humphreys, Delcam’s managing director. “The addition of the PartMaker software to our existing range will allow us to support companies around the world that wish to introduce these advanced machines.”
