If you’re like most people, you have a routine that prepares you for your workday. Hopefully it involves mental preparation, cleanliness, and attention to your appearance. However, you wouldn’t be alone if your daily routine now found you more relaxed in the way you approach your personal appearance. Do you honestly pay as much attention to this as you did when you were first hired? The following tips will help you focus on why these things are still important.

Wear clean, unwrinkled clothes

In addition to dressing appropriately for work, be detail-oriented regarding your attire. Customers key into both the message and the messenger. By maintaining a clean and unwrinkled look, you will encourage your customers to focus on what you have to say.

If you wear a uniform, smock, or company-issued outfit, have several and rotate them throughout your work week. Wash and fold your clothing regularly. Your clothing is as much a tool of your trade as a hammer is to a carpenter.
