(Schreiner ProTech: Oberschleissheim, Germany) -- Colorado-based Kratos Industries manufactures large-format control cabinets and has seen strong growth during the past five years. As the company expanded, the need for accurate labeling also increased, posing significant challenges.

In close cooperation with Schreiner ProTech—a Germany-based global leader in developing and manufacturing innovative functional labels with value-added benefits—a reliable solution was developed: a paint protection label that ensures clear identification and smooth processes.
Initially, Kratos relied on wire shipping tags that were prone to error. Early attempts with paint mask labels also failed, because the labels were difficult to remove after the painting process. Production, the Kratos team realized, required a robust yet flexible labeling solution.
Optimization through timing and teamwork
With support from Schreiner ProTech’s U.S.-based team in Blauvelt, New York, the manufacturing engineering team at Kratos developed a process in which the paint mask labels are removed immediately after painting, while the parts are still warm. This detail turned out to be crucial: The labels can be detached without leaving any residue and without impairing the coating. The result is flawless marking that enhances both inventory visibility and part traceability.
“For us, this solution and the cooperation with Schreiner ProTech was a very important building block in supporting our organizational growth,” says Robert Esquibel from Kratos Industries.
“In the end, it was really a question of timing—in our collaboration as well as in removing the mask,” says Doug Stubbs, sales account manager for Schreiner ProTech.
Pragmatic and process-reliable
The new labeling solution enables Kratos to reliably support its dynamic expansion. Fast part identification and clear allocation are crucial factors for future large-scale projects—and the cooperation with Schreiner ProTech provided the foundation for this.
