(AICON: Braunschweig, Germany) -- AICON has launched the unique MI.Probe which combines extraordinary design with technical finesse, and is easy to handle at the same time.

The MI.Probe works in combination with AICON’s portable coordinate measuring machine MoveInspect. This measuring system uses high-resolution digital cameras for data collection. They are either mounted on tripods or on a camera bar. Together with the MI.Probe, the system solves positioning tasks, for example. Moreover, it checks tolerances, compares the measured data to CAD data, and digitizes objects up to eight meters in size. In doing so, the typical accuracy of the system is up to 0.02mm for 1 cubic meter.

The design is absolutely one of a kind. The handle serves as a central operating unit. It can be linked with different probes that will snap into place with merely a click. This makes the MI.Probe extremely versatile in application. It transmutes from a long probe into a short probe with straight or angular stylus, just as you need it to master your own measuring task. When exchanging the probe, the central operating unit will automatically recognize the new one, which makes switching between the individual probes very easy.
