(PTI Inspection Systems: Tuckahoe, NY) -- Seal-Sensor is the newest addition to PTI’s Seal-Scan line of noncontact ultrasound inspection systems.

“Seal-Sensor technology can be used in both off-line and online applications to inspect pouch seals and produce real-time results,” says Tony Stauffer, president. “Nondestructive and noninvasive, the Seal-Sensor performs a linear scan (L-Scan) of the seal, which takes only seconds, and presents the quality of the seal as a pass/fail result. This is a very rapid, reliable method that provides an instant reading of seal presence and quality. In lab applications, operators can scan pouch seals automatically with the Seal-Sensor to verify seal quality. Seal-Sensor is also ideal for in-process/100-percent inline seal inspection for production environments.”

Seal-Scan ultrasound technology has proven to be a very successful nondestructive inspection solution for many types of pouches and flexible packaging. Seal-Scan detects common pouch seal defects that can contribute to poor seal integrity and affect product quality, sterility, and shelf-life.
