(Promess: Brighton, MI) -- Promess Inc. has launched a new microprocessor-based, handheld meter for calibration, certification, and verification of both laboratory and production measuring equipment. The new PRO-CM16 includes a digital sensor interface, for automatic detection of torque and force sensors, and a USB interface.

The PRO-CM16 is a battery or USB-powered precision amplifier designed to work with Promess transducers and standard strain-gauge load cells to calibrate and certify force and torque measuring systems. It has a sampling rate up to 1,600/s and an instrument accuracy of 0.01 percent. It can measure in tension or compression, and provides an overload warning in both the positive and negative directions.
