(Phynix GmbH & Co.: Köln, Germany) --Phynix is broadening its product range with the gloss measuring instrument GlossFix 60. This new development makes it possible to take immediate measurements of surfaces ranging from matte to mirror-finish with the utmost precision. The fields of application for gloss measurement are diverse: paintwork on motor vehicles and varnishing on furniture and musical instruments; anodized aluminum and other metal surfaces; marble, granite and ceramic tops; and printing ink on paper and synthetic surfaces.

No cable is required to take readings. A battery supplies the instrument with power which, according to the manufacturer, will suffice for approximately 10,000 readings. The GlossFix 60 is also suitable for outdoor use, as it functions without problems at temperatures ranging from –10°C to 60°C. The back-lit display makes it easy to see the readings, even when the device is in a tilted position. The receptacle, featuring integrated measurement standard for fully automatic calibration, is included in delivery.
