Body

(Micro-Vu Corp.: Windsor, CA) -- Micro-Vu Corp. introduces new Excel 501 and 502 measurement systems. The Excel is a fast and precise multisensor measurement system for aerospace, precision machined parts, precision plastics, electronics, LCD, solar, and multiple part applications.

With a 500 mm × 400 mm stage area, the system is comparable in size to standard coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Laser, touch, and vision sensors can be used on the same part. The stage accommodates parts that cannot be measured with multiple sensors on small bench-model systems.

The Excel 501 and 502 implement new technologies to increase speed and accuracy while maintaining reliability and an affordable price. The automated stage with a motorized zoom lens and 160 mm or 250 mm Z-capacity is combined with the proprietary edge-detection technology of InSpec Metrology software. Excel 501 and 502 include programmable multisegment lighting, lights calibration, 6X or 12X optical magnification, 3X digital magnification, nonlinear calibration of the stage, and nonlinear calibration of the optics.
