MIDAS features a polarizing lens, 1.3 megapixel USB camera, and 0.25 in. color CMOS image sensor to provide a magnification range of 10X to 200X. The system is ideal for assembly, repair, inspection, leak detection, document authenticity, criminology, museum and artwork restoration, currency verification, and gemstone and mineral examination.

Six white LEDs provide abundant illumination while a polarizing lens prevents glare and reflection by reducing the wavelengths of light mirrored through the optics of the camera. MIDAS has a 150 mm working distance at 10X magnification and a 13 mm working distance at 50X magnification. MIDAS is operated using a hand-held trigger which permits a high-resolution, 1,280 × 1,024 pixel image capture.
