Body

(Kistler Instrument Corp.: Amherst, NY) -- The Type 9129AA dynamometer  from Kistler Instrument Corp. has an impressively low overall height of 32 mm and large measuring range of up to ±10 kN. With a cover plate of 95 × 105 mm, this dynamometer is used for measuring the three components of the resultant force vector and the three components of the resultant moment vector. The special design of the dynamometer minimizes temperature error. The piezoelectric sensor system measures the forces with virtually no displacement.

KistlerTogether with Kistler charge amplifier Type 5070A and DynoWare software Type 2825A, the dynamometer is ideal for general multicomponent force measurement in confined spaces as well as measurement of the machining forces involved in milling and grinding. Workpieces or clamping devices can be mounted on the cover plate with minimal adjustments.

Modular 3-component system Type 9129A, which is based on the Type 9129AA, was developed for measuring the machining forces involved in turning. This system allows measurement of the three machining forces—cutting Force (F c), feed force (F f), and passive force (F p)—generated during boring and outside turning. Various lathe adapters for turrets and adapter sizes are also available.
