Body

(Kistler: Winterthur, Switzerland) -- Kistler, a global supplier of precision sensors, systems, and instrumentation for the dynamic measurement of pressure, force, torque and acceleration, has introduced the Type 9260AA, a portable multicomponent force plate, designed to measure such parameters as ground reaction force, moment, and center of pressure within clinical gait, running, and balance analysis applications.

Design of the Kistler Type 9260AA incorporates the use of a multicomponent piezoelectric force sensor, offering a Fz measurement range of up to 5 kN, while ensuring very low cross-talk and excellent center of pressure (COP) accuracy. The force plate features a compact, lightweight aluminum composite top for a total weight of less than 22 lbs (10 kg), allowing for portable use on any flat surface. The top plate can also be covered with any type of flooring material without negative effects on offset or linearity.

The unit is available in two sizes, as either the Type 9260AA6 (500 x 600 mm) or the Type 9260AA3 (500 x 300 mm). The sensor connector is located underneath the force plate, allowing for ease of installation with reduced setup time and maintenance costs. Kistler’s long-term product reliability and stability result in a lower overall cost of ownership, as compared to traditional measurement systems.
