(Rhopoint Instruments: East Sussex, UK) -- Rhopoint Instruments Ltd., leading manufacturers of Novo-Gloss meters for more than 20 years, announces the launch of the next generation of reflective appearance instruments. The new Rhopoint IQ can measure all aspects of reflective appearance quality.

Many industries measure reflective qualities with a simple gloss meter; however, gloss measurement is not enough to completely assess reflective qualities. Gloss information alone is limited as it tells us how much light is reflected but nothing about the imaging forming qualities of a surface.

It is common for orange peel and haze effects to dramatically reduce the perceived quality of a finish without affecting gloss values. The Rhopoint IQ measures gloss, haze, and distinctness of image (DOI)—complete reflective appearance analysis—in a single reading.
