(Hexagon: North Kingstown, RI) -- Hexagon Metrology announced today its speaker agenda for the Hexagon 2012 International Conference, being held from June 4–7, 2012, at the MGM Grand Resort in Las Vegas. Customer application stories and educational presentations will be delivered by leading organizations including: GE Inspection Technologies, Naval Air Systems Command, SEAT division of Volkswagen Group, Lowell Inc., Metal Technologies Inc., and motorsport teams Red Bull Technology and Hendrick Motorsports. In addition to expert users discussing dimensional measurement techniques, Hexagon Metrology will also conduct sessions focused on measurement trends and applications in industrial metrology for companies in the aerospace, automotive, energy, and medical fields.

Presentations will cover a wide range of topics. New to this year’s conference is a dedicated Quindos User Track with presentations covering the use of the specialized Quindos metrology software for special geometry measurement, wear measurement, blade geometry, and simulation.

In the Metrology Trends Track, “Why the Prius Changed Everything” will demonstrate how Toyota changed the very makeup of powertrains, affecting everything from “grocery getters” to exotic sports cars.

“Generating Content for Virtual Reality Using 3D Scanned Data” will be presented as well as a session on using the Total Desirability Index to zero in on critical features when using color map inspections.

An update on changes in the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standard, and workshops on statistical process control (SPC) and gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) techniques will also be offered.

In the PC-DMIS User Track, the industry leading PC-DMIS 2012 software package will be officially released, complemented by demonstrations and hands-on workshops covering all the new features, plus best practices, and programming techniques.
