(Hexagon Metrology: North Kingstown, RI) -- Hexagon Metrology has announced the launch of PC-DMIS 2013, a significant development release of the world’s most popular metrology software. PC-DMIS focuses on the collection, evaluation, management, and presentation of manufacturing data to reduce scrap, improve throughput, reduce costs, and build lean manufacturing operations. Hexagon will demonstrate PC-DMIS 2013 with more than 40 software enhancements in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Convention Center during the HxGN LIVE conference.

Among the enhancements, PC-DMIS 2013 rolls out a major new feature, Width Construction, which facilitates the construction of width features from two opposing sides of a notch, tab, or other similar surface. This new construction is useful for GD&T applications that require the width as a datum in Feature Control Frames. Two dimensional width features can be secondary and tertiary datums, while a 3D width can be used as the primary datum.
