In keeping with Creaform’s innovation philosophy, the HandyPROBE optical probing system features TRUaccuracy technology, which generates higher accuracy measurements of up to 22 µm (0.001 in.) and significantly increased productivity, reliability, and quality compared to other coordinate measurement systems, especially in real work environments.
The new design features slimmer, sophisticated lines, is lighter in weight (by 0.5 kg), sturdier, and now offers increased reliability. These changes are part of the continuous improvement program implemented by the company to keep its lead in portable 3-D optical measurement technologies and strengthen its position as a developer and manufacturer of premium quality metrology and quality control devices.
According to product director Jean-François Larue, the gain in productivity and the outstanding measurement reliability of the HandyPROBE explain the system’s 118-percent year-over-year sales increase. The arm’s productivity and reliability are key purchasing points for aerospace, aeronautics, automotive, and nuclear industry leaders such as the European Space Agency, EADS (Airbus), Safran, Pratt & Whitney, BMW, and Honda.
The redesigned HandyPROBE will be premiering on Sept. 19, 2011, at EMO Hannover 2011, the leading trade fair of metalworking in Hannover, Germany, and in Chicago on Sept. 20, 2011, in booth No. 622 at Quality Expo, the leading conference and resource for quality management practices and latest products.
