(Artec 3D: Luxembourg) -- Global 3D scanning leader Artec 3D has launched Artec Studio Lite, a new, more accessible version of its industry-renowned 3D data capture and processing software.

Officially unveiled at last month’s Formnext trade show in Frankfurt, Germany, Artec Studio Lite makes professional-grade 3D tools available to a wider audience. The software delivers cutting-edge AI-powered photogrammetry alongside essential 3D processing and analysis capabilities, all in a streamlined, affordable package.

Bringing Studio Pro tools to a broader audience

Artec Studio Pro offers a comprehensive set of professional 3D scanning, editing, reverse engineering, and quality inspection tools. It has become the benchmark for professional 3D scanning, finding applications in industries ranging from manufacturing and healthcare to heritage preservation and CGI.

Now, Artec Studio Lite inherits Pro’s impressive tool set and brings the power of Artec 3D’s software to a much wider community. Enabling users to now generate 3D models exclusively from photos and videos is expected to unlock new possibilities for makers, small businesses, educators, and more.

As part of an ongoing commitment to 3D innovation, Artec 3D continues to develop its platform with powerful AI photogrammetry tools that pair the precision of 3D scanning with the flexibility of photo-based modeling. Built for professionals, this technology represents a huge leap forward in the field of 3D data capture.

“With AI photogrammetry, we’ve rolled out a game-changing feature for creating exceptionally lifelike 3D models,” says Art Yukhin, president and CEO of Artec 3D. “Now, with Artec Studio Lite, we’re taking this technology even further and making it accessible to a wider audience. We’re also very excited to see what makers and engineers across industries can do with our all-in-one, reimagined solution, Artec Studio Pro.”

Photogrammetry and beyond

Artec Studio Lite retains the core processing, editing, reverse engineering, and inspection capabilities of its professional counterpart while introducing a simplified, intuitive workflow designed for users working exclusively with photos and videos.

Harnessing the power of AI-driven algorithms, Artec Studio Lite reconstructs fine details with outstanding fidelity and achieves high geometric accuracy, often surpassing the performance of many low-cost scanners and competing photogrammetry solutions.

Even with very few photos, it delivers accurate, visually rich models, including those of dark, shiny, translucent, or featureless surfaces that typically challenge other software.

Key features include:

Multicamera support—Combine photos and videos from different devices, including drones, in a single click.

Sharp image prioritization—Automatically selects the sharpest images for texturing, ideal for CGI and e-commerce.

No-masking algorithms—Capture objects on turntables or flip them during shooting, with artifact-free results.

Automated workflows—Predefined settings enable one-click model generation.

Built-in scale bars—Delivers submillimeter accuracy for real-world measurements and CAD deviation analysis.

Users can also edit meshes, prepare models for 3D printing, and export them in multiple standard formats for use in third-party applications.

A software that grows with you

Unlike low-cost scanners with fixed hardware capabilities, Artec Studio evolves continuously through annual updates, introducing new features and improvements inspired by professional workflows. This makes Artec Studio Lite not just an entry-level solution, but a future-proof ecosystem for digital reality capture.

“As our slogan says, ‘The power is in the software,’” says Yukhin. “Artec Studio Lite is a self-sufficient, powerful solution for anyone who needs accurate digital twins. Whether for science, education, heritage preservation, forensics, CGI, or e-commerce, all you need is a camera, smartphone, drone, or even a microscope, together with Artec Studio Lite, to create ultrarealistic 3D models.”

Availability

The software is now available for purchase on the Artec 3D website, with flexible subscription options, including monthly and annual plans, for both individual (nonprofit) and business use.
