(FABTECH USA: Lancaster, SC) -- The manufacturing and fabrication industries, like many in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), have long faced a gender imbalance. Women currently make up only about 26% of the STEM workforce, a figure that has seen little movement during the past 25 years.

Recognizing this gap, FABTECH launched the Women of FABTECH program more than a decade ago. Its mission: to elevate and empower women in manufacturing, fabrication, and engineering. Through effective programming and community-building, Women of FABTECH celebrates industry leaders and fosters the next generation of female professionals.

What to expect from Women of FABTECH at FABTECH 2025

This year’s program at FABTECH USA, in McCormick Place, Chicago, Sept. 8–11, 2025, is set to be the most powerful yet. It kicks off with an inspiring keynote from Amber Selking, a performance consultant, leadership coach, and founder of the Selking Performance Group. Selking will speak on the power of mindset and how positive thinking influences leadership, career development, and resilience. Her session will equip attendees with strategies to sharpen focus, build confidence, and develop a “championship mindset”—both in the workplace and beyond.

Selking is also the author of Winning the Mental Game: The Playbook for Building Championship Mindsets (Amplify Publishing, 2022), and host of the Building Championship Mindsets podcast.

Building community and inspiring change

One of the biggest takeaways for attendees is the sense of connection and community. Women of FABTECH offers a welcoming space for women in the industry to collaborate, share experiences, and support each other. It reinforces the message that women aren’t just welcome in manufacturing—they’re essential to its future.

By showcasing female leadership and innovation, the program helps break down outdated stereotypes and highlights the vital contributions women bring to technical and industrial careers.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of this inspiring movement. Register for FABTECH 2025 and sign up for the Women of FABTECH session today.
