Solectron Forms Medical Alliance

Published: Tuesday, February 27, 2007 - 23:00

Solectron Corp. recently created an alliance for medical device outsourcing companies.

The Solectron Medical Alliance Program (S-MAP) includes ATEK Medical, Circle Medical, Proven Process Medical Devices Inc. and SRI Product Development, as well as Solectron. The alliance creates one of the largest teams of medical technology and clinical manufacturing experts available in the industry, and includes expertise in design and engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and aftermarket services and support, with participant companies in every U.S. time zone. In addition, clients will also have access to Solectron’s high-quality, cost-effective Asian suppliers.

“Medical-device firms are facing mounting pressure to generate more revenue with more products at lower costs while meeting high quality requirements,” says Dave Busch, Solectron medical segment vice president. “S-MAP offers a single point of contact to a best-in-class global team supporting complete product lifecycle needs for medical device firms.”

“This Solectron Medical Alliance Program provides our clients with the opportunity to move with confidence from our low-volume production to Solectron’s extremely cost-effective offshore medical device manufacturing facilities,” says Jerry Hansen, Circle Medical CEO.
