(FARO: Lake Mary, FL) -- FARO (NASDAQ:FARO), the world’s most trusted source for 3D measurement and imaging solutions for metrology, factory automation, product design, public safety, BIM/CIM, and 3D solutions and services, announces the launch of the FARO Forensic ScanArm solution, a tailored offering for crime lab and forensic anthropology applications.

The Forensic ScanArm solution consists of a FusionM ScanArm, coupled with 3D Systems’ Geomagic software and 3D printing solutions to enable high-resolution, noncontact scanning of forensic artifacts. The system features optically superior blue laser technology, combined with fast 3D scanning speed, to perform nondestructive, noncontact scanning of forensic artifacts, which are often fragile. This powerful solution simplifies workflows so users can 3D print replications of forensic artifacts to be used for solving crimes and in courtroom presentations. For forensic anthropology applications, users can perform tasks such as facial reconstruction and analysis using data from cranial scans. FARO will market this unique solution to forensics customers exclusively bundled with Geomagic software.
