API donated an XDTM 6 Laser and complete set of accessories to the UNCC metrology program for the express purpose of deepening students’ understanding of machine calibration through access to state-of-the-art tools and training.

“API is invested in research and education,” says Kam Lau, Ph.D., president and CEO of API. “We want to help students and faculty members pursue opportunities that benefit them and strengthen manufacturing and metrology in the long run. We will continue to support strong programs such as the one that exists at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.”

According to Niles Sorensen, vice chancellor for University Advancement at UNCC, donations by industry are critical in creating resources for groundbreaking research and enhancing learning opportunities not only at UNCC, but to the community as well.
