Blue Belt Lean Certification blended format
Many health care organizations have benefited from continuous improvement through applying the lean philosophy, which streamlines operations by identifying and eliminating inefficient processes. The University at Buffalo’s Center for Industrial Effectiveness (TCIE) offers a certification program tailored to health professionals with lean methodology as the core and an introduction to the data-driven, problem-solving rigor of Six Sigma.
With lean at the core, the Blue Belt Lean Certification program incorporates Six Sigma, which yields larger gains for an organization, helps drive improvement in complex, multidepartmental value streams, and provides a stronger approach to reducing variability within the organization.
Administrators, line staff, and practitioners in the health industry are just a few examples of those who will learn how to improve operational efficiency in an industry with arduous record keeping and funding limitations. This quality improvement program, illustrated through real health-care examples, involves candidates gaining practical experience through their own outcome-based work-site projects. The program is taught and facilitated by lean Six Sigma practitioners and mentors who have successfully applied lean Six Sigma in the health setting.
