(MoreSteam.com: Columbus, OH) --  MoreSteam.com, a global provider of online lean Six Sigma (LSS) training and blended learning support technologies, will host “The Art of Distance Coaching,” a free, one-hour Master Black Belt (MBB) webcast, on Thurs., Oct. 13, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. EDT. Peg Pennington, the executive director of continuous improvement for The Center for Operational Excellence (COE) at Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, will discuss how her executive training program successfully provides a dependable coaching process and framework for geographically distributed students.

Recent government studies have shown that blended learning—generally a mix of e-learning, coaching, and practice—is more efficient and effective than traditional live, instructor-led training classes. Yet even as students work more frequently within a virtual classroom, they still require a collaborative environment and interpersonal interaction with the instructor. The challenge, then, for the instructor of a blended training model is to master the “art” of creating an interactive technological environment that also provides personalized feedback and coaching.
