Sum-Met Bundles Simplify Ordering Consumables for Testing Labs

Buehler’s bundle includes all grinding and polishing consumables required to prepare 100 specimens

Published: Friday, November 19, 2010 - 16:30

(Buehler: Lake Bluff, IL) -- To simplify ordering and purchasing, Buehler created its new Sum-Met Bundles, which contain all the grinding and polishing consumables required to prepare 100 specimens. Using one part number and one price, laboratory, medical, quality control, universities, and other material analysis and preparation facilities can order Sum-Met Bundles for the following applications:

• Ferrous and nickel-based alloys such as Inconel
• Aluminum and copper-based alloys
• Titanium alloys
• Electronic and polymer, especially components such as wiring boards
• Ceramic and refractory nonmetallic materials common in high-heat applications

Typical Sum-Met Bundle contents include a combination of CarbiMet2 or Apex grinding discs (in 8-, 10- or 12-inch diameter), polishing pads/cloths, MetaDi diamond suspensions or pastes, and MasterMet final polishing suspensions. To support repeatability and consistency, Sum-Met Bundles enable users to follow the step-by-step best practices established in Buehler’s Sum-Met The Science Behind Materials Preparation--A Guide to Materials Preparation, an online book available as a free gift when joining Buehler’s e-Club.
