One in Seven Remote Workers at Companies With Recent Layoffs Never Get a Day Off

A recent study found that tech and media workers are putting in more weekend hours than ever as mass layoffs lead to heavier workloads and remote work blurs the line between working and living. To find out just how many people are being pressured to work during their days off, in March 2023, ResumeBuilder.com surveyed 1,000 full-time remote and hybrid workers.

The results:
• One in eight remote or hybrid workers say they work seven days per week, every week
• This number increases to one in seven for workers at companies that have experienced layoffs
• 53 percent of remote workers work some weekends every month
• 11 percent say their company requires them to work more than five days per week, every week, without providing additional time off

Remote work

In order to get a better overall view, it would be beneficial to have the employees list the number of hours per day worked. If I am working remote but only working 4-6 hours per day, I would expect to work more hours / days to get a 40 hour work week (just my opinion)
