Comprehensive "Policies and Procedures" Software Library Now Available

Published: Tuesday, July 26, 2005 - 22:00

Policy Manager, Medical Consultants Network Inc.’s new comprehensive software, includes the company’s entire content library. Policy Manager represents MCN’s first-ever marriage of its 16,000 policies and procedures with Compliance 360 software. Together, the offering provides hospitals a complete and paperless management solution. The library was developed more than 18 years and has been continuously updated. MCN has historically sold individual parts of the manuals to separate hospital departments.

“The marriage of Compliance 360 software with our library of policies and procedures delivers the total management solution for hospitals and other health care providers, including physician office practices and clinics, among others,” says Amanda Valeur, MCN founder and president. “Bottom line, it makes the paperless hospital a reality.”

Policy Manager ensures that policies and forms are up to date and consistent within all departments in an organization. In addition, with the included template library, it gives users a consistent starting point to update its own policies so that they flow with the policies and procedures of other departments.

Importantly, Policy Manager users can instantly upload existing policies into the system. Hospitals and users that don’t have electronic policies can use the policies in Policy Manager as a starting point to develop them. The solution also offers the ability to archive so that hospitals know what policies they had in place at any point in time. Policies are cross-referenced to the regulation which they are associated.

“We know from experience that developing policies is difficult enough,” says Pam Gustafson, MCN vice president. “The responsibility of actually managing the policies only adds to the burden for hospitals. Policy Manager meets the needs of hospitals that have to both develop and manage policies and procedures. We view the product as the ultimate policy management resource for hospitals.”
