Inside Quality Digest Live for Sept. 11, 2018

Greetings from Chicago and IMTS

Published: Tuesday, September 11, 2018 - 12:01

We arrived in Chicago over the weekend to luxuriously appointed accommodations and much fanfare (that’s how it is when you’re the cast and crew of the No. 1 talk show in the quality industry). In our first episodes of Quality Digest Live from the floor of IMTS 2018, we were truly given the red-carpet treatment by our wonderful sponsors at Nikon Metrology. Let’s take a look at what we covered:

News from IMTS

I strolled the floor at McCormick Place, to bring you my take on the innovations that are changing the game for quality-centric manufacturers everywhere. Hint: The robots really are taking over.

Interview: Rob Martin and Joe Szymanski

Martin is the vice president of sales for Nikon Metrology, and Szymanski is the vice president of sales and marketing in the Americas for LK Metrology. In this segment, they explained their company’s relationship, talked about the importance of customer-centric business, and considered the importance of Quality 4.0.

Tech Corner: iNEXIV VMA-2520 Vision System

Nate Frost, product manager for application software at Nikon Metrology, gave us an up-close look at this breakthrough technology, featuring the “Custom Solution” wide field of view.

Nikon Metrology was good enough to offer a prize drawing for a lucky QDL viewer as part of their sponsorship of the show. Accordingly, we’re happy to announce that Sherine Kanagasunderam was drawn at random from all entries to win a new Nikon D3400 camera. Congratulations, Sherine!

Our next special IMTS episode of Quality Digest Live comes to you on Wed., Sept. 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. Pacific/2 p.m. Eastern. You can watch either via our home page or our dedicated player page. See you then!
