Third Dimension Boosts International Presence of the GapGun with Five New Distributors

Published: Thursday, August 13, 2015 - 15:05

(Third Dimension: Bristol, UK) -- Third Dimension, manufacturer of the GapGun, the leading portable laser measurement solution, has boosted its international presence this year by appointing five new distributors: Introtech in Romania, Global Measurements in Mexico, Norcam in Portugal, EngiMA in North Africa, and FTR in Japan.

All five of these new distributors have either attended training at Third Dimension’s headquarters or have been visited on site. The key focus will be on developing new and existing customer accounts in their regions, mainly in the automotive and aerospace markets.

“Exporting is the lifeblood of our business,” says Peter Marchbank, CEO at Third Dimension. “In the last five years we have invested heavily in our systems, processes, and people to enable our exports to increase substantially. Welcoming these new distributors has enabled us to expand our network around the world even further.”

Third Dimension has been supporting its international business with its applications engineering staff visiting a number of overseas customers and distributors, including those in the nations of India, Argentina, Mexico, and South Africa in the last quarter. To equip their distributors with as much regionally adapted sales and marketing material as possible for use in their market, the company has produced marketing material in nine languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Slovak, and Hungarian.

Third Dimension exports to more than 25 countries worldwide, with local support provided by its network of distributors. They also work with leading multinational companies such as Airbus, Volkswagen, Lockheed, Mitsubishi, and Embraer. In 2012, exports accounted for 64 percent of total sales, and this has increased to 84 percent this year. Overall, the company’s exports have grown five-fold in the past six years.
